Questions

Frequently asked

How does the face shape test work?
+
The tool detects 478 landmarks on your face in your browser, measures the width of your face at the brow, cheekbone and jaw, the face length and the jaw angle, and compares those ratios with a classifier trained on 4,000 labelled faces.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
+
No. The face model runs entirely on your device. The photo is never sent to a server and is discarded when you close the page.
What photo works best?
+
Face the camera straight on, hair off your face, neutral expression, even lighting. Turned or tilted heads make the measurements less reliable, and the tool will tell you.
Why do I get two shapes?
+
Most faces sit between two shapes. We show the best match with its confidence and the runner-up so you can read the styling advice for both.
Which face shapes can it detect?
+
Oval, round, square, heart and oblong (long). Diamond and triangle faces are usually reported as their closest neighbour.
